Baltic Boys Use Big Third Quarter in Win over Canton

The Baltic Bulldog boys outscored the Canton C-Hawks 25-7 in the third quarter to help them to a 75-58 win at home on Friday, January 30th.

The Bulldogs opened the game with a 13-0 run, but Canton finished the first quarter on an 18-2 run for an 18-15 lead at the end of the opening quarter.  The teams traded baskets in the second quarter, and the C-Hawks led 31-29 at halftime.

The big quarter for the Bulldogs came in the third quarter when they outscored Canton 25-7.  That led to a 54-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Both teams would put 20 points on the board each, but the Baltic was able to maintain their lead throughout the quarter.

Baltic finished the game shooting 58% (30-52) from the field overall, 38% (9-24) from three-point area, and 6-10 from the free-throw line.  Canton shot 48% (22-46) overall, 45% (9-20) on three-point shots, and 5-11 from the free-throw line.

Four players finished in double figures.  Kellen Artz had 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.  Dylan Runestad had 15 points, two rebounds, and three assists.  Trevor Cuperus ended with 13 points and four rebounds.  Cooper Garry also had 13 points with two assists and two steals.
