The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team cruised past Garretson in the opening round of the Region 3A tournament on Tuesday, November 4th. The Bulldogs took the win in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-11.
Baltic started with a slim 3-2 lead in the opening set. They were able to work that lead to 12-6 and cruise from there. The Bulldogs extended the advantage to nine points at 19-10 and 21-12 before cruising to the 25-18 win.
The Bulldogs continued to roll to start the second set and jumped out to a 6-1 lead. They pushed the lead to nine points quickly at 11-2. Garretson cut into the lead a little bit and closed the gap to 16-10. Baltic, however, quickly extended the lead to eight points at 22-14 and then finished the set with three straight points for a 25-14 victory.
Baltic took an earl 7-2 lead in the third set and was able to cruise from there. They went on a 9-3 run to extend the lead to 16-5. The Bulldogs continued to lead by 11 points at 20-9 before finishing the match on a 5-2 run for a 25-11 win.
The Bulldogs will host the West Central Trojans in a SoDak 16 qualifying match on Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. The match can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
