Bulldog Volleyball Gets Big East Win over Cossacks

The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team got a Big East Conference win over the Sioux Valley Cossacks at home on Thursday, October 16th.  The Bulldogs won in straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-22, and 25-21.

Sioux Valley took an early 4-2 lead to start the opening set.  Baltic responded with a 6-1 run to go in front 8-5.  That run kept the Bulldogs in front the rest of the set.  The Bulldogs led 12-8 before going on a 5-2 run to extend the lead to 17-10.  They would finish the set with an 8-4 advantage for the 25-14 win.

The Bulldogs started the second set with a 4-2 lead.  The Cossacks rallied to tie the score at 7-7.  Sioux Valley then went in front 11-10, but the lead didn’t last long.  The Bulldogs went on a 7-2 run to regain the lead 17-13.  The Cossacks got within two points, 20-18, but Baltic was able to push the lead to 24-20 before winning 25-22.

The third set started with an early 3-3 tie.  Sioux Valley went in front 7-6, and they continued to lead by one at 11-10.  Baltic got rolling and went on a 6-1 run for a 16-12 lead.  They continued to lead by four points at 20-16.  The Bulldogs were able to stay in front the rest of the match to a 25-21 victory.
