Baltic Bulldogs Fall at Home to #5 Sioux Valley

The Baltic Bulldog football team hosted the Sioux Valley Cossacks on Friday, September 5th.  The fifth-ranked Cossacks scored in every quarter on their way to a 54-8 win over the Bulldogs.

Baltic hung tough with Sioux Valley through most of the opening quarter.  Sioux Valley didn’t score until the 3:58 mark of the opening quarter, which was a 28-yard touchdown run.  The two-point conversion made the score 8-0.  The score remained 8-0 going into the second quarter.

The Cossacks would score on the very first play of the second quarter on a 36-yard touchdown pass.  Another made two-point conversion extended the lead to 16-0.  They would score two more times before the end of the first half.  The next score was a 23-yard run with 5:30 left in the half.  The final score of the second quarter was a three-yard run with 1:50 remaining.  Both two-point conversions were made to make the score 32-0 going into halftime.

Sioux Valley wasn’t done with the big plays.  They opened the second half with an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  The two-point conversion was good again to make their lead 40-0.  They added another three-yard touchdown run with 8:01 to play in the game.  The two-point try was no good keeping the score 46-0.

Baltic got on the board with 6:10 to play.  Jackson Goehring scored on a 17-yard run and also made the two-point conversion try to make the score 46-8.  Sioux Valley got one more score late in the game.  They had a 10-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion with 1:23 left in the game.
