Baltic Volleyball Falls Short Against Madison

The Baltic Bulldogs played three close sets against the Madison Bulldogs in Madison on Tuesday, October 6th but came up short in all three.  Madison won the match by set scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-18.

Baltic held a lead for a good portion of the opening set.  After an early 2-1 lead by Baltic, the set was tied at 4-4 and 7-7.  Baltic would go ahead 11-9, and they would maintain the lead at 14-12.  Madison, however, would go on a 5-1 run to go in front 17-15.  Baltic tied the score 20-20 and then went back in front 22-21.  Madison would end the set on a 4-1 run to send the set on a 25-21 win.

Madison took the early lead to start the second set.  They led 3-1 and also 6-4.  Madison continued to use the momentum to their favor and extended their lead to 14-8 and then to 20-13.  Baltic fought back to get within four points, 24-20, but Madison ended the rally to win 25-20.

The third set started with a 3-3 tie.  Madison grabbed an early 7-6 lead, but Baltic went on a 7-2 run to go in front 13-9.  Madison rallied to tie the score 14-14 and then took the lead again at 19-17.  They pushed their advantage to 23-18 and then scored the final two points for a 25-18 win.

Issie Clark finished with 16 kills on the night.  Kalyce Nohava added six kills.  Harper Kortemeyer also had six kills along with two blocks.  Ashlynn Lane added 21 set assists and three ace serves.  Kaiya Lenderts had 17 digs, and Kenzie Bethke ended with 10 set assists.
