The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team won a five-set match at home over the Parker/Marion Pheasants by scores of 21-25, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23, and 15-12.
The Pheasants held a 4-2 lead to start the first set. After a 6-6 tie, the Bulldogs grabbed a 10-9 lead. The score would be tied again 15-15 before Baltic went on a 4-1 run for a 19-16 advantage. Parker/Marion finished the set on a 9-2 run to win the first set 25-21. The Bulldogs started with a 4-2 lead in the second set, and they held the lead throughout the set. They would build their lead to 15-6. Parker/Marion cut the lead to four points, 16-12, but the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 21-12. Each team scored four more points each as the Bulldogs won 25-16.
The third set opened with a 4-4 tie. Parker/Marion took a 9-6 lead and led by scores of 14-10 and 17-15. They would stay in front 20-16, and then the Pheasants finished on a 5-1 run for a 25-17 win. The fourth set also started with an early tie at 3-3. The Pheasants turned a 7-6 lead into an 11-8 advantage. They then went on an 8-3 run to build a 19-11 advantage. The Pheasants continued to lead 21-14. Baltic went on a 4-2 run to make the score 23-18. The Bulldogs then went on a 7-0 run to steal the fourth set by a score of 25-23.
The Pheasants tried to put that 7-0 run behind them, and they scored the first four points of the fifth set. Baltic cut the lead to 6-4, and then they tied the score 7-7. The Bulldogs grabbed an 11-10 lead. They added another point to the lead, 13-11. Baltic was able to finish the match with a 15-12 win.
