The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team hosted the Colman-Egan Hawks on Thursday, August 27th. The Hawks won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 28-26.
Colman-Egan started the first set with a slim 3-2 lead. They would then go on an 8-2 run to make the score 11-4. The Bulldogs could not really close the gap in the first set as the Hawks took the with 25-16. Baltic started the second with a 4-1 spurt. They continued to lead at 9-7, but the Hawks went on a 5-1 run to go in front 12-10. The Bulldogs tied the score 13-13. After a 14-14 tie score, Colman-Egan went on a 7-1 run to go ahead 21-15. They stayed in front to the 25-19 win.
The two teams were tied 3-3 to start the third set. Colman-Egan then went on a 10-1 run for a 13-4 lead. The Bulldogs were able to chip away at the lead. They closed the gap to 19-14 and then 19-17. The Hawks led 23-21, but Baltic rallied to tie the score 24-24. The two teams were tied again at 25-25. The Bulldogs took a 26-25 lead, but Colman-Egan scored three straight points to win 28-26.
