Early Runs Lead to Win for Sioux Valley over Baltic in Baseball Action

Early runs scored by Sioux Valley helped them to a 17-3 win in five innings over Baltic in high school baseball action on Sunday, March 29th.

Sioux Valley scored three runs right away in the top of the first inning.  Cale Roach scored on a passed ball for Baltic in the bottom of the first to make the score 3-1.  Sioux Valley, however, added two runs in the second and then six in the top of the third for an 11-1 lead.  Roach and Will Oakley both scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the third for an 11-3 score, but Sioux Valley had another six-run inning in the top of the fourth.  The game ended on the 10-run rule after the fifth inning.

Isaac Oakley had the only two hits in the game for Baltic.  He also pitched two innings and allowed 10 runs, but just three earned, on seven hits and a walk with a strikeout.  Brody Hansen pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, just one earned, on four hits and four walks.  Aaron Nordbye threw 1 2/3 innings and allowed a hit and three walks with three strikeouts.
