Bulldog Boys Season Stopped in Flandreau

The Baltic Bulldog boys had their season end in Flandreau in the Region 3A Tournament on Friday, March 6th.  The Fliers, after leading for most of the game, overcame a late deficit for a 45-41 win advance to the SoDak 16.

The Bulldogs opened the game with a 3-0 run in the first four minutes of the game.  Flandreau would outscore Baltic 11-5 the rest of the quarter for an 11-8 lead.  The Fliers extended that lead throughout the second quarter and led 26-17 at halftime.

Flandreau continued to slowly build on their lead early in the second half.  The Fliers led 36-21 with 3:25 to go in the third quarter.  Baltic would wend the quarter on a 10-0 run to make the score 36-31 going into the fourth quarter.  The Bulldogs continued their run and outscored Flandreau 8-1 to take a 39-37 lead with 4:00 left in the game.  After Flandreau tied the score 39-39, the Bulldogs went back in front 41-39 with 1:45 on the clock.  The Fliers, however, scored the final six points to take the 45-41 win.

Baltic shot 37% (16-43) overall in the game, 22% (5-23) on three-point attempts, and 4-8 from the free-throw line.  Flandreau finished the game shooting 39% (17-44) overall, 39% (7-18) on three-point shots, and also 4-8 from the free-throw line.

Kellen Artz finished with nine points and 11 rebounds.  Dylan Runestad and Cooper Garry both had eight points each.  Ben Erickson had seven points and five rebounds.  Ben Berg also had seven points.  Trevor Cuperus ended with two points and 11 rebound.

Baltic finished the season with a 13-9 overall record.
