Baltic Boys Fall at Home to Madison to End Regular Season

The Baltic Bulldogs suffered a home loss to the Madison Bulldogs in the final regular season game of the year on Friday, February 27th.  Madison earned a 56-53 come-from-behind win.

Baltic started the game on a 12-3 run in the first half of the opening quarter.  They ended the first quarter with a 16-8 lead.  Baltic stayed in front throughout the second quarter and maintained their eight-point lead, 30-22, at halftime.

Madison chipped away at the lead in the third quarter.  They got within two points, 37-35, with 2:00 to go in the quarter.  They eventually tied the game 41-41 thirty seconds later.  Baltic would end the third quarter with a 44-43 lead.  Madison, however, went on a 10-0 run to take a 53-44 lead with 3:00 to play in the game.  Baltic had a chance to tie the game at the end, but a couple of three-point attempts in the closing seconds were no good.

Baltic shot 50% (24-48) from the field overall, but just 24% (4-17) on three-point shots.  They were just 1-6 from the free-throw line.  Madison shot 40% (22-55) from the field, 33% (7-21) from three-point area, and 5-8 from the free-throw line.

Kellen Artz finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, eight blocked shots, and six assists.  Ben Erickson added 14 points and three assists.  Dylan Runestad ended with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Trevor Cuperus had six points and four rebounds.
