Bulldog Boys Win Third Straight to Start Season

The Baltic Bulldog boys basketball team won their third straight game to start the season on Tuesday, December 16th.  The Bulldogs defeated the Parker/Marion Pheasants 67-56 to move to 3-0.

Both offenses got off to a slow start in the game.  Baltic led 4-0 with 4:00 to go in the first quarter.  They would extend the lead to 10-4 in the next minute and a half.  The Bulldogs led 14-11 with just under a minute to play before closing out the quarter on a 6-0 run for a 20-11 lead.  The lead was 10 points, 25-15, with 5:28 to play in the first half, but the Pheasants went on a 10-2 run to cut the deficit to 27-25 by halftime.

The Bulldogs started the third quarter with a 10-2 run of their own to get the lead back to 10 points, 37-27, with just under 5:00 to play in the quarter.  Their lead grew to 47-30 over the next three minutes.  They led 52-36 going into the fourth quarter.  Parker/Marion got within 11 points, 62-51, with 1:21 to play, but that was as close as they would get.  Each team scored five points each to end the game.

Four players were in double figures for Baltic.  Kellen Artz had a team-high 21 points.  Dylan Runestad added 14 points.  Ben Erickson finished with 13 points, and Cooper Garry had 12 points.
