The Baltic Bulldog girls basketball team earned their first win of the season in Parker on Tuesday, December 16th. The Bulldogs used a big second quarter to lead them to a 62-40 victory over the Pheasants.
Baltic scored first and never tailed in the game. They led 6-2 and then extended that lead to 16-5 with 2:15 to play in the opening quarter. Paker/Marion cut the lead down to nine points, 20-11, by the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs went on a 14-0 run in the second quarter and extended their lead to 34-11 with 1:30 left in the half. They led 38-14 going into halftime.
The Bulldogs would push the lead to a game-high 28 points, 44-16, with 5:30 to go in the third quarter. The Pheasants were able to get the lead down to 20 points, 52-32, by the end of the third quarter. Baltic got the lead back to 25 points, 59-34, with 2:00 to go in the game before taking the win 62-40.
Three players finished in double figures for the Bulldogs. Meredith Larson led the team in scoring with 17 points. Caitlyn Pickett added 15 points. Harper Kortemeyer finished with 14 points. Kate Bouman had six points, and Sadey Holt had four.
