Baltic Boys Basketball Wins Season Opener on Road

The Baltic Bulldog boys basketball team opened the 2025-2026 season on the road in Beresford against the Watchdogs on Friday, December 12th.  The Bulldogs built a big first half lead and held on for a 64-51 win.

Baltic opened with a slim 6-4 lead.  They continued to lead 13-11 until finishing the first quarter with the final three points for a 16-11 lead.  The Bulldogs kept the momentum rolling into the second quarter.  They built a 23-14 lead and then finished the half on an 8-0 run for a 31-14 halftime lead.

Beresford was able to find their shooting rhythm in the second half.  They chipped away at the lead and got within seven points, 43-36, with :40 to go in the third quarter.  The Bulldogs rallied for the final four points to make the score 47-36 going into the fourth quarter.  The Watchdogs again chipped away and got the lead down to six points, 55-49, with 3:40 to play.  Baltic would stop the momentum and finish the game on a 9-2 run for the 64-51 win.

Three players finished in double figures for the Bulldogs.  Dylan Runestand had 20 points.  Kellen Artz finished with 14 points.  Trevor Cuperus had 11 points, and Cooper Garry ended with nine points.
