Baltic Girls Basketball Falls to West Central in Season Opener

The Baltic Bulldogs opened the 2025-2026 at home on Tuesday, December 9th against a very tough West Central Trojan team.  The Trojans used a strong pressure defense and strong shooting to lead them to an 81-29 victory.

The Bulldogs were within five points, 15-10, late in the opening quarter.  The Trojans, however, went on a 6-0 run in the final minute to end the first quarter with a 21-10 lead.  They would continue to roll from there.  West Central outscored Baltic 24-10 in the second quarter for a 55-20 halftime lead.  The Trojans had another 20-point quarter in the third, outscoring Baltic 20-6 for a 75-26 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Baltic shot 29% (9-31) overall in the game, 27% (4-15) on three-point shots, and 50% (7-14) from the free-throw line.  West Central was 55% (34-62) from the field overall, 32% (6-19) on three-point shots, and 47% (7-15) from the free-throw line.  The Trojans also forced 22 turnovers, 17 of those on steals.

Harper Kortemeyer had 10 points, three assists, and two rebounds.  Caitlyn Pickett finished with five points and nine rebounds.  Meredith Larson and Sadey Holt both had four points and two rebounds each.  Braylee Parmley and Kate Bourman had three points each.
