Baltic Volleyball Wins Final Regular Season Match

The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team hosted the Deubrook Dolphins in their final regular season match of the year on Tuesday, October 28th.  The Bulldogs won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-13.

The Dolphins opened the first set with a 4-2 lead.  Baltic then went on a 5-1 run to go in front 7-5.  They held just a one-point lead, 11-10, before going on a 6-3 spurt to extend the lead to 17-13.  Deubrook got within in two points, 20-18, but the Bulldogs ended the set on a 5-0 run for a 25-18 victory.

Baltic started the second set with a 3-1 lead.  The Dolphins responded with a 6-2 run of their own to take a 7-5 lead.  The teams traded scores and were tied 12-12.  Deubrook went on a 4-0 run to go in front 16-12.  The Bulldogs scored the next three points to make the score 16-15, and then they eventually tied the score 18-18.  The teams again traded points to a 21-21 tie.  Baltic finished the set on a 4-2 run to earn a 25-23 win.

The Bulldogs used that momentum in the third set.  They took an early 3-2 lead and slowly built their lead at scores of 8-5, 11-7, and then to 15-10.  Baltic continued their run and grew the lead to 22-12 before ending the match with a 25-13.

Baltic finished the regular season with a 20-8 record and a #2 seed in the Region 3A Tournament.  The Bulldogs will host the #7 seeded Garretson Blue Dragons on Tuesday, November 4th in the opening round of the tournament.
