Baltic Volleyball Cruises Past McCook Central/Montrose for Fifth Straight Win

The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team won their fifth straight match with a straight-set victory over the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Monday, October 6th.  The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-21.

Baltic took an early 3-2 lead to start the first set.  The Bulldogs led 6-4 before the Fighting Cougars were able to tie the score 8-8.  McCook Central/Montrose took a 12-10, but the Bulldogs then went on a big run.  Baltic went on an 11-1 run to take a 21-13 lead.  They would take the first set 25-15.

McCook Central/Montrose led 3-2 to start the second set.  They led 5-3, but Baltic went on a 3-1 run for a 6-6 tie.  The Bulldogs when ahead 9-7 and pushed the lead to 12-8.  The Fighting Cougars got within a point, 13-12, but the Bulldogs shut them down.  Baltic responded with a 7-2 run to make the score 20-14 on their way to a 25-17 win.

The Fighting Cougars tried to pick up some momentum in the third set.  They started with a 6-0 run and continued to lead 10-5.  Baltic kept chipping away at the lead.  They were able to get within a point at 15-14, 18-17, and 20-19.  They were finally able to tie the score 20-20.  The Bulldogs then went on a 3-0 run to go in front 23-20.  That run gave them enough of a lead to finish the set, and match, with a 25-21 victory.
