The Baltic Bulldog football team traveled to Parker to play the Pheasants on Friday, September 12th. Parker pulled away from Baltic in the second half for a 25-6 victory.
Neither team was able to find the end zone in the first quarter. The first points of the game were scored on an errant snap. Baltic snapped the ball out of the back of the end zone on a punt attempt, and Parker was given two points for a 2-0 lead with 4:01 to play in the half. The Pheasants took advantage of the safety. They scored on the subsequent offensive drive on a five-yard touchdown run with 1:45 to go. The two-point conversion was made giving Parker a 10-0 lead. That’s where the score remained until halftime.
The Bulldogs got some excitement on the defensive side of the ball mid way through the third quarter. Jax Vrchota intercepted a pass and raced down the sidelines 60 yards for a defensive touchdown. The conversion attempt failed, but Baltic pulled within four points, 10-6. Parker would get another score late in the third quarter. With :14 remaining on the clock, the Pheasants scored on a two-yard run. Another made two-point conversion extended the lead to 18-6 going into the fourth quarter.
The Pheasants ended their homecoming game with another score with 7:40 to go. A twenty-four yard touchdown run followed by a made extra point made the score 25-6.
Jack Wiseman had six carries for 25 yards. Gavin Skotvold finished 3-10 passing for 30 yards. Treylen DeHaven had a catch for 20 yards. Carter Warren had five tackles in the game. Elias Oakley had four tackles, and Trevor Cuperus ended with three tackles.
The Bulldogs travel to Elk Point to play the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Friday, September 19th. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
