The Baltic 14U baseball team dropped two games on back-to-back days. They fell to Garretson on Tuesday, July 1st and then lost a game to Madison White on Tuesday, July 2nd.
Garretson 7, Baltic 4
Baltic scored two runs in the top of the first inning for an early 2-0 lead. Garretson got one back in the bottom of the inning. Baltic’s lead wouldn’t last, however. Garretson got two runs in the second and two more in the third for a 5-2 lead. They would add two more in the bottom of the fifth. Baltic scored two times in the top of the seventh, but the rally fell short.
Braeden Turner had two hits and an RBI. Brody Hansen also had two hits. Laken Koremeyer had a single with two RBIs. Oliver Nedved also had a hit with an RBI. Hayden Sunderman finished with a single. Hansen pithed three innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Nedved also pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Madison White 17, Baltic 5
Madison scored nine straight runs on their way to the 17-5 win. They got three runs in the top of the first and six more in the top of the second for a 9-0 lead. Baltic scored three times in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 9-3. Madison, however, scored three in the third and another in the fourth to run the score to 13-3. Baltic kept the game going with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Madison added four more runs in the top of the sixth before the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Everitt Bemboom had two hits and three RBIs. Michael Grunewaldt had a single and an RBI. Kortemeyer and Turner both had one hit each. Braden Breece had an RBI. Kortemeyer threw two innings and allowed 11 runs, eight earned, on seven hits and four walks with one strikeout. Grunewaldt pitched four innings and allowed six runs, but just one earned, on three hits and seven walks with two strikeouts.
