The Baltic 14U baseball team put together a furious rally in the bottom of the seventh, but fell one run short, 10-9, against Madison Gold on Wednesday, June 25th.
Madison scored the first nine runs of the game. They scored four times in the top of the second. They added three more in the top of the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 9-0 lead. Baltic got one run in the bottom of the sixth. Madison added another run in the top of the seventh, and that one run proved to be big. Baltic rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run on second before the rally was stopped.
Hayden Sundermann had a hit and three RBIs. Laken Kortemeyer had a double and an RBI. Braeden Turner had a single and an RBI. Braden Breece also had a hit. Kortemeyer pitched three innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Sundermann pitched two innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on two hits and five walks.
