Big Inning for Flandreau Key to Win over Baltic

The Baltic Bulldog softball team hosted Flandreau on Friday, May 23rd.  The Flyers had a big fourth inning to help them to a 28-11 win.

Flandreau scored two times in the top of the first, but Baltic responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 lead.  The Flyers scored two more in the top of the second to tie the game 4-4.  The Bulldogs answered with a run n the bottom of the second and another in the third to go back in front 6-4.  Flandreau, however, then scored 19 times in the top of the fourth for a 23-6 lead.  Baltic got five runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 23-11.  Flandreau got those five runs back in the top of the fifth.  The game ended on the 10-run rule after the end of the fifth inning.

Harper Kortemeyer had three hits, including a home run, triple, and double, and seven RBIs.  Kya Rollinger had two hits, one a triple, and an RBI.  Ashlyn Klein also had two hits with an RBI.  Kaylee Siemonsma added a single and RBI.  Ellie Pickett and Madyson Determan both had one hit each.  Charlee Blommer pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed 16 runs, 13 earned, on nine hits and 10 walks with seven strikeouts.  Klein allowed seven runs, two earned, on two hits and three walks.  Ryah Peters threw 2/3 of an inning and allowed five runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks.
