Madison Takes win over Baltic Baseball

The Baltic high school baseball team traveled to Madison for a game on Wednesday, May 14th.  Madison used a big third inning to help them to a 10-5 win.

Baltic scored a run in the top of the first for an early 1-0 lead.  Madison responded with two runs in the bottom of the first.  After a scoreless second inning, Baltic tied the game, 2-2, with a run in the top of the third.  Madison, however, scored six times in the bottom of the third for an 8-2 lead.  They scored two more times in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 10-2.  Baltic got three runs in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 10-5, but they were unable to score again in the game.

Elias Oakley had two hits, including a double.  Gavin Skotvold had a single with two RBIs.  Jackson Goehring had a double and an RBI.  Braxten Allen and Ryder Siemonsma both had one hie each.  Oakley pitched two innings and allowed seven runs, one earned, on a hit and six walks with a strikeout.  Laken Kortemeyer threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks with five strikeouts.  AJ Grunewaldt threw 1/3 of an inning allowing an earned run on three walks and one strikeout.
