Madison Rolls Past Baltic Softball

The Baltic Bulldog softball team held a brief lead early, but the Madison Bulldogs rolled to a 17-2 win in four innings on Tuesday, April 29th.

Harper Kortemeyer hit an RBI single in the top of the first inning to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.  Madison, however, scored seven times in the bottom of the inning for a 7-1 lead.  They added seven more in the bottom of the second for a 14-1 score.  Kortemeyer added an RBI double in the top of the third inning.  The game ended on the 15-run rule after Madison scored three times in the bottom of the fourth.

Kortemeyer had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Amaris Handsaker, Anna Hoekman, and Amelia Sinding all had one hit each.  Charlee Blommer threw 3 1/3 innings and allowed 16 runs, five earned, on 13 hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Ashlyn Klein pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed an unearned run on a hit.
