Second Quarter Run Sparks Lennox Win over Baltic Boys

A flip-flopped first half was the key to the Lennox Orioles getting a win over the Baltic Bulldogs, 47-39, on Thursday, February 7th.

Baltic opened the game with a nice run and led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter.  Things got flip-flopped in the second quarter.  Lennox outscored Baltic 15-2 and took a 23-18 lead into halftime.

The Oriole lead grew to 32-22 with just under 4:00 to play in the third quarter.  After Baltic got the lead down to seven points, 38-31, Lennox hit a three point shot to end the third quarter to make the score 41-31 going into the fourth.  The Bulldogs had quite a few opportunities in the fourth quarter to put pressure on Lennox, but Baltic could only get as close as 44-39 with just under 3:00 to play in the game.

The Bulldogs shot 38% (13-34) from the field overall, 39% (7-18) on three-point shots, and 6-7 from the free-throw line.  Lennox shot 31% (15-48) overall, 16% (3-19) from three-point area, and 67% (14-21) from the free-throw line.

Dylan Runestand had 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Ben Erickson finished with 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Trevor Cuperus added six points and three rebounds.  Kellen Artz had five points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.
