Bulldog Girls Basketball Starts Season in Hartford

The Baltic Bulldog girls basketball team started their 2024-2025 season on the road in Hartford against the West Central Trojans on Tuesday, December 10th.  The Trojans built a big first half lead and took the win 55-40.

Baltic started the game with a quick 5-2 run, but West Central finished the first quarter on a 19-2 scoring advantage for a 21-7 lead.  The Trojans extended the lead to 45-12 going into halftime.  The Bulldogs found some offensive rhythm in the second half.  Baltic scored 16 points in the third quarter to make the score 50-28 going into the fourth quarter.  The Bulldogs also outscored West Central 12-5 in the final quarter, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Baltic shot 44% (12-27) overall, 50% (5-10) on three-point shots, and 73% (11-15) from the free-throw line.  West Central finished the game shooting 35% (21-60) overall, 32% (7-22) on three-point attempts, and 46% (6-13) from the free-throw line.

Caitlyn Pickett had 20 points and five rebounds in the game.  Meredith Larson added 12 points and nine rebounds.  Kate Bouman had three points and three assists.  Holland Kortemeyer had two points and five rebounds.  Harper Kortemeyer ended with two points, four assists, and three steals.
