A big rally in the top of the seventh gave the Baltic/Colton legion team a win in the opening round of the Region 2B tournament in Madison on Tuesday, July 23rd. Baltic/Colton defeated Volga 10-6 to advance to the next round.
Baltic/Colton took the lead, 1-0, in the top of the first inning. The lead did not last long as Volga scored five in the bottom of the inning to go in front 5-1. Volga added another run in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 6-1. Baltic/Colton got one run in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 6-2. They would then score five runs before getting an out in the seventh to take a 7-6 lead. Three more runs scored on a two-out triple from Tate Feucht to make the score 10-6.
Beau Keith had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Feucht finished with two hits, one a triple, and three RBIs. Riley Schultz added a single and two RBIs. Everett Althoff had a hit and an RBI. Nathan Madison, Gunner Schutlz, and Braxten Allen all had one hit each. Feucht pitched six innings and allowed six runs, but just two earned, on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Schultz pitched one inning recording two strikeouts.
