Sioux Falls Christian stole a 2-1 win with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth over Baltic/Colton on Tuesday, July 9th.
Sioux Falls scored their first run in the bottom of the first. They maintained a 1-0 lead until the top of the sixth inning. Gunner Schultz tied the game for Baltic/Colton with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Sioux Falls threatened to win the game in the bottom of the seventh, but Baltic/Colton was able to work around a leadoff double to force extra innings. After the first batter grounded out in the bottom of the eighth, Sioux Falls Christian took two walks, had a hit batter, and then the game-winning, bases-loaded walk.
Schultz finished with a single and an RBI. Everett Althoff had a double. Carter Sorenson, Tyler Groenewold, and Braxton Allen all had a single each. Groenewold pitched seven innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Beau Breece pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed an earned run on three walks and a hit batter.
