A late rally by Baltic/Colton legion fell short against Madison on Monday, July 1st. Madison held for a 15-9 win at home.
Madison took the lead right away in the bottom of the first with three runs. Baltic/Colton cut the lead to 3-2 after two runs in the top of the second. Madison, however, extended their lead to 7-2 with a four-run bottom second. Baltic/Colton got a run in the top of the fourth making the score 7-3. Madison had another four-run inning in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 11-3. Baltic/Colton got another run in the fifth and then put four runs on the board in the top of the sixth to pull within three, 11-8. Madison shut the door on the rally with their third four-run inning in the bottom of the sixth.
Ryan Lehman finished with two hits and two RBIs. Braxton Allen had two singles with one RBI. Beau Breece and Tyler Groenewold both had two hits each. Everett Althoff added a double and an RBI. Gunner Schultz finished with a single and an RBI. Nathan Madison had a single, and Cody Lofswold had an RBI.
