The Baltic 14U baseball team gave Dell Rapids Navy 14U their first loss of the 2024 season in Baltic on Wednesday, June 19th. Baltic came from behind for a 6-5 victory.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the type of the second and the two more in the top of the fourth for a 3-0 lead. Baltic scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and then took the lead 6-3 after a four-run bottom of the fifth inning. Dell Rapids got one run back in the top of the sixth. They pulled within a run on a two-out RBI single by Lucas Peppel. A groundout one batter later ended the game.
Cale Roach had two hits and an RBI. Ben Berg added a single and an RBI. Brody Hansen and Braeden Turner both had a single. Gavin Skotvold, an Brody Aspass each had an RBI. Elias Oakley pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on a hit and nine walks with three strikeouts. Berg pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed an earned run on a hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Skotvold threw one inning and allowed an earned run on two hits an a walk with a strikeout.
