Baltic Baseball Season Ends after Near Upset

The Baltic high school baseball team,  #7 in Region 3B, nearly pulled off an upset against #2 Sioux Falls Christian in region play on Wednesday, May 22nd.  Sioux Falls Christian earned a walk-off win in nine innings 4-3 over Baltic.

The first three innings were scoreless between the two teams.   Baltic grabbed the lead in the fourth inning.  Ryder Siemonsma had an RBI single, and Riiker Rogers had an RBI sacrifice fly to Baltic in front 2-0.  Sioux Falls Christian had a three-run bottom of the sixth for a 3-2 lead.  Baltic tied the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI ground out by Beau Breece.  The score remained 3-3 until the bottom of the ninth.  With two outs Sioux Falls Christian got an RBI single for a win.

Tate Feucht had two singles.  Siemonsma had a single and an RBI.  Riley Schultz, Braxton Allen, and Isaac Oakley all had a single.  Breece and Rogers each had an RBI.  Schultz pitched six innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on three hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts.  Allen pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed a run, which was unearned, on two hits and two walks.
