Baltic Softball Drops Doubleheader to Chester

The Baltic Bulldogs softball team dropped a pair of games against the Chester Flyers on Tuesday, May 14th.

Chester 14, Baltic 5

The Flyers put five runs on the board right away in the top of the first inning.  Baltic scored one time in the bottom of the inning,  Chester, however, continued to score.  They had two in the second, two in the third, and two in the fourth for an 11-1 lead.  The Bulldogs got a couple of runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The Flyers added three in the fifth, while Baltic had two in the bottom of the inning.

Baylee Breece and Haedyn Painter both had two singles and an RBI each.  Katelyn Moser had two hits, one a double.  Caitlyn Pickett had two singles.  Kaiya Lenderts added a double and two RBIs.  Anna Hoekman and  Harper Kortemeyer both had one hit each.

Chester 7, Baltic 4

The Flyers broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the top of the fifth to earn the 7-4 win in the second game.  Chester got two runs in the top of the first.  Baltic took the lead in the bottom of the second with three runs.  The Flyers got two runs in the third to go back in front 4-3.  The Bulldogs tied the game with a run in the bottom of the third.

Kortemeyer had a double and an RBI.  Moser also had a double.  Pickett added a single.  Sophia Even had two RBIs, and Alexis Kehn had one RBI.  Ryah Peters pitched five innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on nine hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
