The Baltic Bulldog boys were able to shake off a slow start in the opening round of the Region 3A Tournament on Tuesday, February 27th. The Bulldogs earned a 63-40 win over the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars.
McCook Central/Montrose started the game on a 7-0 run in the first two and a half minutes. Baltic finished the quarter on a 14-4 run for a 14-11 lead. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 32-23 by halftime. The Fighting Cougars stayed close in the third quarter and trailed 42-30 going into the fourth quarter. Baltic outscored McCook Central/Montrose 21-10 in the final quarter in the win.
Jack Erickson finished with 24 points, two rebounds, two steals, and three blocked shots. Kellen Artz added 13 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots. Blake Hookie had nine points, five rebounds, and three steals. Dylan Runestad ended with seven points. Mark Ditter had five point, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
