The Baltic Bulldog boys were able to hold off the Canton C-Hawks in a 73-59 victory on Thursday, February 8th.
The Bulldogs went ahead by five points, 20-15, at the end of the first quarter after a buzzer-beater three-point shot by Jack Erickson. Baltic held Canton to just eight points in the second quarter to build a 38-23 lead going into halftime. Their lead reached 21 points, 49-28, with 4:00 to play in the third quarter. That is when Canton put together a rally.
The C-Hawks scored the next 15 points of the came and cut the lead to six, 49-43, with 1:15 left in the third quarter. Baltic was able to finish the quarter with a 6-0 run for a 55-43 lead going into the fourth quarter. Canton got the lead down to single digits a couple of times in the fourth quarter, but Baltic was able to stop any rally for the 14-point win.
J. Erickson finished with 26 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Ben Erickson had 12 points and six rebounds. Mark Ditter added 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Dylan Runestad had nine points and two rebounds. Beau Breece ended with eight points and five assists. Blake Hookie had thre points, but a team high 10 rebounds.
