Sioux Falls Christian Ends Baltic Volleyball Season

The Baltic Bulldogs had their volleyball season come to an end in the semifinals of the Region 3A tournament on Thursday, November 2nd.  The Sioux Falls Christian Chargers defeated the Bulldogs in straight sets by scores of 25-11, 25-12, and 25-17.

After a 3-3 tie to start the first set, the Chargers went on a 7-2 run for a 10-5 lead.  They continued to build that lead to 17-8 before winning the opening set 25-11.  The momentum carried into the second set as the Chargers went on a 6-1 run to start.  The Bulldogs battled back to within two, 11-9, but Sioux Falls Christian went on a 5-0 run to go ahead 16-9 and finished the set on a 9-3 advantage.

Baltic started the third set with a 5-1 run.  The Chargers, however, responded with a 5-1 run of their own to tie the score 6-6.  Sioux Falls Christian then scored the next four points for a 10-6 lead. They extended that lead to 15-7, but the Bulldogs made one more run.  Baltic pulled within two points, 17-15.  The Bulldogs trailed by four points, 21-17, before the Chargers scored the final four points of the match.

Baltic finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 21-6.  Their six losses on the year came against Colman-Egan, Dell Rapids, Chester twice, Lennox, and then Sioux Falls Christian.
