The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team won a road match at McCook Central/Montrose on Monday, October 2nd. The Bulldogs defeated the Fighting Cougars in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-18.
McCook Central/Montrose started the first set with a 3-0 lead. Baltic scored the next three points for a 3-3 tie. The set was tied at 5-5 and 7-7. The Bulldogs then went on a 7-1 run for a 14-8 lead. After still leading by six, 18-12, McCook Central/Montrose cut the lead to 18-15. The Bulldogs finished the set on a 7-3 run for a 25-18 win.
The momentum carried into the second set as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-2 lead. The Fighting Cougars stayed within three points early, 10-7, but Baltic went on a 7-4 run to extend the lead to 17-11. They scored the next four in a row, and the lead grew to 21-11. The Bulldogs finished the set with the 25-13 win.
The Bulldogs started the third set with a 5-2 lead. McCook Central/Montrose cut the lead to 9-7. They were still within two points, 16-14, before Baltic went on another run. The Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run for a 21-14 lead. They cruised from there to the 25-18 win.
