The Baltic Bulldog volleyball team earned a road win in Garretson on Thursday, August 31st. The Bulldogs defeated the Blue Dragons in four sets by scores of 25-8, 25-18, 24-26, and 25-17.
Baltic led the first set by five points at the midway point, 13-8. They then scored the final 12 points of the set for a 25-8 win. Garretson started the second set on a 4-1 run, but the Bulldogs tied the score 9-9. They took a four point lead shortly thereafter, 14-10. Garretson got within a point 15-14, but Baltic went on a 10-4 run to finish the second set for a 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs looked like they were going to take the match in straight sets. They led 9-5, but Garretson tied the score 12-12. The Bulldogs responded with a 6-1 run for an 18-13 lead. The Blue Dragons chipped away at the lead and tied the score 22-22. The score was tied again 24-24 before Garretson scored the final two points to extend the match.
Baltic started the fourth set on a 7-2 run. Garretson cut the lead to 8-6. Another run by Baltic put them ahead 16-9, but Garretson again rallied to pull within three, 16-13. The Bulldogs then finished the set on a 9-4 advantage for the 25-17 win.
