Baltic 14U scored three times in the final two innings, but Volga was able to hang on to a 4-3 victory on Friday, June 30th.
Volga broke a scoreless tie with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. They added another run in the bottom of the fifth. Baltic tied the game with two in the top of the sixth. Ben Berg scored on a steal of home, and Aiden Peters had an RBI ground out making the score 2-2. Volga responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Berg singled in the top of the seventh allowing Elias Oakley to score on the throw to cut the lead to 4-3. Berg made it to third base as the tying run, but was thrown out at home on a bunt attempt to end the game.
Berg had three hits and an RBI. Peters had a single and an RBI. Bryce had the other hit for Baltic. Oakley pitched six innings and allowed four earned runs on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts.
