Alcester-Hudson Softball Takes Two from Raiders

The Alcester-Hudson Cub softball team hosted the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Raiders in a double-header on Friday, April 11th.  The Cubs took both games on the night.

Alcester-Hudson 15, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 0

The Cubs put four runs on the bottom in the bottom of the first inning and cruised from there.  They added a run in the second to go ahead 5-0.  Alcester-Hudson had an eigtht-run third inning and then ended the game on the 15-run rule with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Emma Moller had four hits and two RBIs.  Delta Pies also had four hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Jaeley Christensen had three hits, one a double, and three RBIs.  Jenna Manning also had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Laney Decker had two hits and two RBIs.  Moller pitched all four innings allowing just one hit with 12 strikeouts.

In the second game, the Cubs scored seven times in the bottom of the first to set the tone.  They had a run in the second and four more in the third for a 12-0 lead.  The game ended in the bottom of the fourth on the 15-run rule when the Cubs scored three more times.

Moller had four hits, one a home run, and two RBIs.  Solberg had three hits, including a home run, with four RBIs.  Jenna Manning had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs.  Pies added a home run and a double with an RBI.  Decker also posted three hits with an RBI.  Moller pitched four innings and allowed one hit and one walk with nine strikeouts.
