The Alcester-Hudson Cub softball team got back on the field for the first time since March 23rd on Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5th. The Cubs hosted Colman-Egan on Thursday and had a double-header against Oldham-Ramona-Rutland on Friday.
Alcester-Hudson 11, Colman-Egan 1
Colman-Egan got the first run of the game in the top of the first inning without a hit, but it was all Alcester-Hudson after that. The Cubs scored three runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second, and four in the third for an 8-1 lead. The score remained 8-1 until the Cubs scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Jaeley Christensen had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Jenna Manning finished with three singles and an RBI. Laney Decker had two hits and two RBIs. Delta Pies had a double and two RBIs. Emma Moller added a double and an RBI. Elly Doering and Hannah Ahart both had a single each. E. Moller pitched six innings and gave up an unearned run without allowing a hit with six walks and 13 strikeouts.
Acester-Hudson 20, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 2
The Cubs scored 20 runs on 16 hits in the first game of a double-header on Friday. Alcester-Hudson had a seven-run first inning, six runs in the second, and seven more in the third. The Raiders scored single runs in the second and third innings.
Pies had two hits, a home run and double, and three RBIs. Doering had a home run and triple with two RBIs. Decker and Paxtyn Moller both finished with two hits, one a double, and two RBIs each. Emma Solberg added two singles and an RBI. E. Moller finished with a double and three RBIs. Ahart, Alexis Gray, and Manning all had a hit and an RBI each. Christensen had two hits. E. Moller pitched three innings and allowed two unearned runs on a hit and four walks with five strikeouts.
Alcester-Hudson 21, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 0
Manning threw a no-hitter in the second game of the double-header on Friday while walking two and striking out two batters. Alcester-Hudson had a 10-run first inning, six in the second inning, and five runs in the third for the 21-0 win.
Ahart finished with two hits, one a double, and three RBIs. P. Moller had two hits and three RBIs. Manning had a single and three RBIs. Doering and Pies both had a single and two RBIs each. Solberg and E. Moller each had a double and an RBI. Decker added a single and RBI. Gray and Ava Kingma both had an RBI.
