The Alcester-Hudson Cubs won their second straight home football game, and third overall, on Friday, September 1st. The Cubs defeated the Burke Cougars 42-8 to move to 3-0 on the season.
Alcester-Hudson got on the board right away in the first quarter. Evan Brown connected with William Hallaway on a 50-yard halfback touchdown pass with 10:50 remaining in the first quarter. Mateo Kleinhans threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brown with 3:13 left in the quarter for a 16-0 lead.
The scoring continued in the first quarter when Kleinhans scored on an eight-yard touchdown run with 1:34 remaining. The final touchdown of the quarter came on a 36-yard fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by Jensen Christensen as time expired. The Cubs led 30-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Kleinhans added an 80-yard touchdown run with 7:37 to play in the second quarter. Tommy Walth had a 19-yard touchdown pass to Hallaway with 2:07 to play in the first half. Alcester-Hudson led 42-0 at halftime. Burke scored their lone touchdown on a six-yard run with 6:50 to play in the third quarter.
Alcester-Hudson will travel to Garretson on Friday, September 8th.
