Alcester-Hudson Softball Takes Two from Viborg-Hurley

The Alcester-Hudson Cub softball team won both games of a double header over the Viborg-Hurley Cougars on Tuesday, May 16th.  The two wins make it four straight wins for the Cubs.

Alcester-Hudson 6, Viborg-Hurley 0

Alcester-Hudson scored three times in the bottom of the first.  Emma Moller and Jenna Manning both had an RBI double, and Sarah Ebert had an RBI ground out.  Jaeley Christensen had an RBI ground out in the bottom of the second inning to extend the lead to 4-0.  After a scoreless third inning, Ella Serck brought home two runs with a double in the bottom of the fourth.

Manning had two doubles and an RBI.  Serck finished with a double and two RBIs.  E. Moller also had a double and an RBI.  Alexis Gray added a double.  Elly Doering finished with a hit.  Ebert and Christensen each had an RBI.  Moller pitched five innings and allowed just two hits and four walks with 14 strikeouts.

Alcester-Hudson 3, Viborg-Hurley 1

A two-run double by Paxtyn Moller in the bottom of the fifth gave the Cubs a 3-1 walk-off win over the Raiders in the second game of the night.  The game was scoreless after three innings.  Viborg-Hurley got one run in the top of the fourth.  Doering tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.  A single by Christensen and a walk to Serck put two runners on base in the bottom of the fifth to set up the game-winning hit by P. Moller.

P. Moller had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Doering had a single and an RBI.  Manning, Ebert, Hannah Ahart, and Christensen all had a hit in the game.  E. Moller pitched five innings and allowed an earned run on four hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.
