Cub Track Returns Five State Qualifiers

The Alcester-Hudson Cub track teams will return five athletes this season that qualified for the state track meet last season.

The girls team returns Carly Patrick (junior), Devin Hongslo (sophomore), Emma Solberg (8th), and Emily Winquist (8th) who all qualified for the state meet last season.  Patrick also set school records in the long jump and high jump last season.  They will be joined by senior Ella Serck as the leaders for the girls team.

“We should be a pretty decent track team this year.  We have a lot of young girls that had success last year, and they should carry that over to this track season.  I would like to see all of our relays qualify for state this season and sprinkle in some individual events as well.  We should be very competitive,” said girls head coach Shannon Hames.

The boys team has junior Mateo Kleinhans back.  Kleinhans qualified for the state meet in triple jump and 300m hurdles last season.  Junior William Hallaway is also back who had a great year long jumping in 2022.

“I hope to put together several boys relays that will be competitive and hopefully qualify for state,” said boys head coach Mitchell Johnson.
