Cub Cross Country Sets Sights on State

The Alcester-Hudson Cub cross country teams have their sights on state in 2022.

“I truly believe the girls have a great shot at getting to state this year as a team.  We have some strong senior girls returning and a few new and upcoming fantastic athletes on the girls side.  Our boys have the potential to reach state as a team if we get a great push at the end of the season.  We have a returning freshman who just missed going to state as an individual last year, who has my strongest support as a state-qualifier this year.  It should be an exciting year,” said head coach Josh Carlson.

The girls team includes seniors Peyton Meyer and Ella Serck along with junior Aleigha Paulson.  The team also has sophomores Stormi Carlson, Ava Kingma, Jaeley Christensen, and Hannah Ahart, freshman Skya Almlie, eight-grader Summer Carlson, and seventh-grader Laney Decker.  The boys team consists of Josh Dreisen (sophomore), Darin Dykstra (freshman), and seventh-grader Izaac Sommervold.

The Cubs will start the season in Beresford on Friday, August 26th.
