A two-run bottom of the sixth was key for the Trojans opening-round win against the Watchdogs on Thursday.\u00a0 After five scoreless innings, Sophie Rolfson singled on a bunt, and Teagan Lupkes scored on an error to put West Central on the board.\u00a0 Briauna Hoff drove home another run with a single two batters later.<\/p>\n
Linzie Hoff held Beresford scoreless and allowed just four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.\u00a0 Maddy Kunzweiler and Stella Seimonsma both had two hits each, and each had a double.\u00a0 B. Hoff had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Lupkes and Rolfson both had one hit each.<\/p>\n
Each team had a three-run inning early in the game.\u00a0 The Huskies struck first with three runs in the top of the first.\u00a0 The Trojans tied the game, 3-3, on RBI hits by Siemonsma, L. Hoff, and Addy Kunzweiler in the bottom of the second.\u00a0 The score remained 3-3 until the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Elk Point-Jefferson broke the tie with a run in the inning.\u00a0 They added three more in the top of the sixth for a 7-3 lead.\u00a0 Siemonsma had an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh, but the Huskies held for the win.<\/p>\n
L. Hoff had two hits and an RBI.\u00a0 Ayla Kramer and Travis each had two hits, including a double.\u00a0 Rolfson ended with two singles.\u00a0 Siemonsma had a hit and two RBIs.\u00a0 A. Kunzweiler had a hit and an RBI.\u00a0 B. Hoff also had one hit.\u00a0 L. Hoff pitched seven innings and allowed seven runs, four earned, on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Trojans rebounded in the 3rd\/4th place game against the Mustangs on Saturday.\u00a0 Kramer and Rolfson had RBI singles in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 A. Kunzweiler scored on a wild pitch in the top of the second.\u00a0 Travis added a home run in the top of the third, and L. Hoff had an RBI sacrifice fly to give the Trojans a 5-0 lead.\u00a0 Tri-Valley scored a run in the bottom of the third.<\/p>\n
Rolfson and L. Hoff each had RBIs in the top of the fifth inning.\u00a0 Rolfson added another RBI single in the top of the sixth.\u00a0 Siemonsma had an RBI sacrifice fly, and L. Hoff drew a bases-loaded walk to make the score 11-1.\u00a0 The game ended on the 10-run rule after the sixth inning.<\/p>\n
