The West Central Royal 14U baseball team won one of their last four games in the past week.\u00a0 They fell to. Tri-Valley Maroon on Wednesday, June 18th, dropped a game to Dell Rapids on Friday, June 20th, was blanked by Sioux Falls Chargers on Sunday, June 22nd, but earned a win over Baltic on Tuesday, June 24th.<\/p>\n
A three-run second inning was enough for Tri-Valley to get the win.\u00a0 West Central took the lead 1-0 with a run in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 Tri-Valley got three of their runs in the second for a 3-1 lead.\u00a0 They added another run in the top of the fifth inning.\u00a0 Luke Larson got an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but that wasn’t enough for West Central.<\/p>\n
Larson had two hits with an RBI.\u00a0 Eli Koehn also had two hits, one a double, with an RBI.\u00a0 Max Lewin added a double.\u00a0 Kane pitched four innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits and a walk with five strikeouts.\u00a0 Lewin pitched three innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Dell Rapids built a 6-0 lead to help them to the 13-3 victory on Friday.\u00a0 They scored two in the bottom of the first, one in the third, and three in the fourth for the 6-0 advantage.\u00a0 West Central got two runs in the top of the fifth, but Dell Rapids answered with four in their half of the inning for a 10-2 score.\u00a0 West Central scored one more time in the top of the sixth, but Dell Rapids ended the game on the 10-run rule with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.<\/p>\n
Kayden Munk had two hits with an RBI.\u00a0 Cooper B had a double and two RBIs.\u00a0 Larson. also had a hit.\u00a0 Dean Arends pitched three innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts.\u00a0 Kenny Arends pitched 2 1\/3 innings and allowed 10 runs, even earned, on four hits and six walks with one strikeout.<\/p>\n
The Chargers held West Central to just one hit in their 9-0 win.\u00a0 Sioux Falls got a run in the top of the first and second innings for a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 They added four more in the fourth inning, two in the fifth, and one last run in the sixth for the 9-0 score.\u00a0 Kane G had the lone hit for West Central.<\/p>\n
West Central used a big rally in the middle of the game to earn the 12-7 come-from-behind win.\u00a0 Baltic scored one in the top of the first, but West Central got two runs for a 2-1 lead.\u00a0 Baltic scored twice in the top of the third to take a brief 3-2 lead.\u00a0 West Central scored four times in the third and five in the fourth for an 11-3 advantage.\u00a0 Baltic cut into the lead, 11-7, with four runs in the top of the fifth.\u00a0 West Central got an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth.<\/p>\n
Larson finished with two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Aiden L, Oliver Gebhard, and Archer Thomsen all had a hit with an RBI.\u00a0 Koehn and Kane G both had one hit.\u00a0 D. Arends had a single.\u00a0 Kane G pitched four innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.\u00a0 K.
