In the first pool-play game, the Trojans held the Chargers to just one hit.\u00a0 West Central scored two times in the bottom of the first and another in the second for a 3-0 lead.\u00a0 They would score four more times in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth, and then the Trojans ended the game on the 10-run rule with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.<\/p>\n
Ayla Kramer had three hits, two of them doubles, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Maddy Kunzweiler had two singles.\u00a0 Sophie Rolfson had a single and two RBIs.\u00a0 Izzi Parsons, Kadence Lupkes, and Miley Travis all had a single and RBI each.\u00a0 Paiten Schuldt had a hit.\u00a0 Elisabeth Miller and Emma Voeltz each had an RBI.\u00a0 Miller pitched all six innings and allowed one hit and three walks with 11 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Trojans scored five early runs and held off the Huskies in a 5-2 win in their second pool play game of the day to advance to the championship game as the #1 seed.\u00a0 West Central scored a run in the bottom of the first inning and then had a big four-run bottom of the second for a 5-0 lead.\u00a0 The score remained 5-0 until the top of the fifth.\u00a0 Elk Point-Jefferson got two runs, but the Trojans stopped the rally for the win.<\/p>\n
Lupkes finished with two hits, including a double.\u00a0 M. Kunzweiler had a double with an RBI.\u00a0 Rolfson and Kramer both had a single with an RBI.\u00a0 Parsons and Addy Kunzweiler had one hit each.\u00a0 Miller pitched four innings and allowed one hit and three walks with six strikeouts.\u00a0 Kacey Jaton pitched an inning and allowed two earned runs on a hit and a walk.<\/p>\n
The Trojans held off the Quarriers to claim the tournament title, 5-3.\u00a0 Neither team scored in the first two innings.\u00a0 Kramer had an RBI single and Kupkes delivered a big three-run home run in the bottom of the third to give the Trojans a 4-0 lead.\u00a0 Dell Rapids got one run in the top of the fourth, West Central got that run back in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 The Quarriers got two runs on a two-out, two-run double in the top of the fifth, but the Trojans picked off a runner at second base to end the rally and the game.<\/p>\n
