The West Central Trojans traveled to Sioux Center, IA and came home with four wins to start the 2025 season on Saturday, March 29th.\u00a0 The Trojans earned wins over Bon Homme, Deuel, Alcester-Hudson, and Beresford at the American State Bank Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
The Trojans built a 5-0 lead after the first inning.\u00a0 They added three more runs in the bottom of the second and four more in the third for a 12-0 advantage.\u00a0 Bon Homme got three runs in the top of the fourth to make the score 12-3.\u00a0 The Trojans added one more run in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 They held the Cavaliers scoreless in the top of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n
Ayla Kramer had three doubles and four RBIs in the game.\u00a0 Addy Kunzweiler had three hits, two of them doubles, and an RBI.\u00a0 Elisabeth Miller had a home run and four RBIs.\u00a0 Sophie Rolfson added a double and two RBIs.\u00a0 Maddy Knuzweiler had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Izzi Parsons, Kadence Lupkes, and Miley Travis all had one single each.\u00a0 Briauna Hoff added an RBI.\u00a0 Miller got the win on the mound throwing three innings without allowing a hit with eight strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Cardinals of Deuel held a lead for most of the game.\u00a0 They scored two runs right away in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the third.\u00a0 Rolfson had an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 2-1.\u00a0 Deuel continued to lead 2-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning.\u00a0 Kramer tied the game with a home run to centerfield.\u00a0 K. Lupkes gave the Trojans a 3-2 lead with an RBI double.\u00a0 The Trojans added two more runs and held Deuel in the seventh to earn the win.<\/p>\n
K. Lupkes had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Kramer had a home run and an RBI.\u00a0 Teagan Lupkes had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 E. Miller finished with a triple.\u00a0 A. Kunzweiler had a double, and Parsons had a single.\u00a0 Rolfson had an RBI.\u00a0 Miller took the win throwing the last three innings without allowing a hit and striking out eight more batters.<\/p>\n
A big second inning lifted the West Central Trojans to a win over the Cubs.\u00a0 After a scoreless first inning, West Central scored eight times in the bottom of the second inning for an 8-0 lead.\u00a0 Alcester-Hudson got a run in the top of the third, but the Trojans got the run back making the score 9-1.\u00a0 West Central scored two more times in the bottom of the fourth to end the game with an 11-1 score.<\/p>\n
Kramer had three hits, including a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 M. Kunzweiler had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 T. Lupkes had two doubles and an RBI.\u00a0 Hoff ended with two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 K. Lupkes had a single with two RBIs.\u00a0 Miller had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Parsons had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Miller threw all four innings and allowed an earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Early runs led to the win over the Watchdogs for the Trojans.\u00a0 They put five runs on the board in the top of the first inning.\u00a0 \u00a0West Central added three more in the top of the second for an early 8-0 lead.\u00a0 The score remained 8-0 until the top of the fifth.\u00a0 The Trojans scored two more times to increase the lead to 10-0.\u00a0 The Watchdogs were held scoreless, and the game ended on the 10-run rule after five innings.<\/p>\n
Miller had three hits, including a home run, with three RBIs.\u00a0 M. Kunzweiler had two hits and three RBIs.\u00a0 Kramer finished with two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.\u00a0 Parsons and Hoff both had two hits each.\u00a0 K. Lupkes and A.
