The West Central Blue 14U finished their regular season with a 14-2 record after finishing 1-1 in their final two games of the year.\u00a0 They traveled to Dell Rapids on Wednesday, July 5th and then had a road game against Madison White on Friday, July 7th.<\/p>\n
West Central gave up two runs to Dell Rapids in the bottom of the fifth inning that broke a 1-1 tie.\u00a0 Eli Koehn had an RBI ground out that scored a run in the top of the second inning, but Dell Rapids tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth when Dell Rapids scored two times.<\/p>\n
West Central Blue did not have a hit in the game, but Koehn finished with an RBI.\u00a0 Alex Siemonsma pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Ashton Gebhardt pitched two innings and allowed an earned run on four hits with one strikeout.\u00a0 Taten VanOverbeke pitched an inning and allowed two hits and a walk.<\/p>\n
A 10-run top of the sixth inning was key to victory for West Central against Madison White on Friday.\u00a0 Madison scored a run in the first and second inning for a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 West Central cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the third.\u00a0 They went ahead with three runs in the top of the fifth and then scored 10 times in the top of the sixth for a 14-2 lead.\u00a0 Madison avoided the 10-run rule with a seven-run bottom of the sixth to make the score 14-9.\u00a0 West Central got one more run in the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n
Gebhardt had three hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 JT Steckley also had three hits with an RBI.\u00a0 Maddax Jackson had a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Koehn and Braxton Huber each had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Dylan Bettcher added a double.\u00a0 Hayes Cain and Aiden Lueth each had a single.\u00a0 VanOverbeke and Siemonsma both had an RBI.\u00a0 Bettcher pitched 3 1\/3 innings and allowed a hit and two walks with a strikeout.\u00a0 Steckley pitched 1 2\/3 inning and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Siemonsma pitched an inning and allowed a hit with one strikeout.\u00a0 Cain also threw an inning and allowed seven runs, four earned, on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
