{"id":1137,"date":"2023-06-26T19:54:29","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T00:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/west-central\/?p=1137"},"modified":"2023-06-26T19:54:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T00:54:31","slug":"west-central-legion-loses-two-at-home-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/west-central\/2023\/06\/26\/west-central-legion-loses-two-at-home-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"West Central Legion Loses Two at Home Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1064\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/west-central\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/WCBA_Logo-150x140.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/west-central\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/WCBA_Logo-150x140.png 150w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/west-central\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/WCBA_Logo.png 202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>The West Central legion baseball team hosted a tournament Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 25th.\u00a0 West Central lost two games during the tournament, one to Lennox and one to Tabor.<\/p>\n<h5>Lennox 7, West Central 5<\/h5>\n<p>A four-run rally in the top of the seventh helped Lennox to a 7-5 win over West Central on Friday.\u00a0 West Central lead 4-3 going into the seventh inning.\u00a0 They scored a run in the first and second innings for a 2-0 lead.\u00a0 After each team scored a run in the third, West Central led 3-1.\u00a0 Lennox got one run in the top of the fourth and then tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth.\u00a0 West Central took the lead back, 4-3, with a run in the bottom of the sixth.\u00a0 Lennox then scored four in the top of the seventh and held West Central to just one run in the bottom of the inning.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Renken had three hits, including a double.\u00a0 Will Nester and Domo Chandeswang both had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Gage Nelson, Connor Siemonsma, and Cain Grocott all had one hit.\u00a0 Duece Sherard had an RBI.\u00a0 Owen Heath pitched six innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Mason Schult pitched one inning and allowed an unearned run with one strikeout.<\/p>\n<h5>Tabor 15, West Central 4<\/h5>\n<p>After West Central scored a run in the top of the first, Tabor scored 12 straight runs.\u00a0 Tabor scored three in the first, five in the second, and four in the third for a 12-1 lead.\u00a0 Both teams scored three times in the fourth inning.<\/p>\n<p>Siemonsma had two hits and two RBIs.\u00a0 Sherard finished with a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Nelson, Renken, Landen Holewa, and CJ DenBoer all had a hit.\u00a0 Nester added an RBI.\u00a0 Andrew Zimmer pitched 2 1\/3 innings and allowed 11 runs, just three earned, on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.\u00a0 Nelson pitched 1 2\/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits and three walks.\u00a0 Chandeswang allowed an earned run on two walks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The West Central legion baseball team hosted a tournament Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 25th.\u00a0 West Central lost two games during the tournament, one to Lennox and one to Tabor.
