A five-run top of the first inning set the tone for West Central in their win on Friday against Canton.\u00a0 Canton’s lone run was scored in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 West Central added three runs each in the top of the second and third innings.<\/p>\n
Hayes Cain had a home run and a double with five RBIs.\u00a0 Dylan Bettcher, Ashton Gebhardt, and Eli Koehn all had a single and an RBI each.\u00a0 JT Steckley added an RBI.\u00a0 Gebhardt pitched two innings allowing one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts.\u00a0 Alex Siemonsma pitched 1 2\/3 inning allowing a hit and two walks with four strikeouts.\u00a0 Cain pitched 1\/3 of an inning recording a strikeout.<\/p>\n
Baltic held an early three run lead in the game on Saturday after scoring three runs in the top of the first.\u00a0 West Central got one run in the bottom of the third and two more in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 3-3.\u00a0 Baltic took the lead again with two runs in the top of the fifth.\u00a0 West Central won the game in the bottom of the fifth after Koehn scored on a wild pitch for the third run of the inning.<\/p>\n
Bettcher had two hits and an RBI.\u00a0 Cain finished with two singles.\u00a0 Siemonsma and Koehn each had a single in the game.\u00a0 Steckley pitched an inning and allowed three earned runs on two hits and a walk with a strikeout.\u00a0 Gebhardt pitched two innings allowing a hit and walk with two strikeouts.\u00a0 Taten Vanoverbeke pitched an inning and walked one and struck out one.\u00a0 Siemonsma pitched an inning allowing two earned runs on three hits and a walk with a strikeout.<\/p>\n
West Central held a 7-0 lead after the first two innings of play, but Flandreau took the lead for good in the top of the fourth.\u00a0 Flandreau scored four runs in the top of the third and seven more in the top of the fourth for an 11-7 lead.\u00a0 West Central got two runs in the bottom of the fifth only to have Flandreau score two more runs in the top of the sixth.<\/p>\n
