Both the West Central Trojan girls and boys track teams placed in the top 5 as a team at the 2023 South Dakota State A Track Meet held in Sioux Falls on May 25th through 27th.\u00a0 The girls team finished fifth with 41 points.\u00a0 The boys team took third with 42 team points.<\/p>\n

Molli Thornton won the triple jump and long jump and placed second in the 200m dash.\u00a0 The 4x200m relay team of Rayna Goehring, Baylee Poss, Sadie Berg, and Thornton placed second.\u00a0 Cambell Fischer was seventh in the shot put.\u00a0 Berg took eighth in the 400m dash.\u00a0 The 4x800m relay team of Brie Peters, Jazelle Jarding, Cambree Ideker, and Bailey Stallman placed eighth.\u00a0 The 4x100m relay team of Goehring, Poss, Berg, and Alexa Borns placed eighth.<\/p>\n

Layton Johnson took second in the 100m dash and third in the 200m dash.\u00a0 Jude Jarding was third in the 400m dash.\u00a0 The 4x400m relay team of Johnson, Elliot DeJong, Wyatt Nielsen, and Jarding was third.\u00a0 The sprint medley relay team of Preston Butts, Mason Berens, Jarding, and Benjamin Strunk took fifth.\u00a0 Nielsen was fifth in the 200m dahs and sixth in the 400m dash.\u00a0 The 4x800m relay team of Dylan Stromer, Jarding, Jonathan Roth, and Strunk placed seventh.\u00a0 Liam Schmeichel took eighth in the 110m hurdles.\u00a0 Carter Schmeichel placed eighth in the 200m dash.<\/p>\n
